My oldest son Erik has graduated from the 8th grade as a member of the National Junior Honor Society and is now headed to high school in the fall.
Man I really feel old, but I sure am proud of him! :)

I hope all the fathers out there had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed themselves yesterday on Father's Day!
I also want to say thank you to the good people who took advantage of our Father's Day special:
Lisa and Kevin; Donna and Bryan; Lisette and Chris; Nancy and Tim; Joanne and Charles; The Barkers; The Sugumarans and last but not least the Winfields
Thank you all for your patronage, please spread the word and keep an eye out for future events and specials!
I spent yesterday afternoon at the Shenandoah Valley Pow Wow in Quicksburg, VA and had a blast! Took a few snaps, enjoyed the dancing, singing and drum work and even had a little Native American cuisine to boot (note: buffalo meat does NOT taste like chicken)!
Anyway I had such a good time I thought I should share a few shots of the participants - hope you enjoy!
Fathers Day is fast approaching - what with me being a father and all, I thought this would be a great occasion to give some discounts to our wonderful customers!
From now until midnight 6/17 anyone who books a wedding will receive a FREE engagement session and anyone booking a portrait will get 1/2 off the sitting fee!
Just go to photofanatic.org, click the hookup link and in the comments section mention DADS ARE GREAT and you will receive the discount! :)
Special does not cover travel expenses.
I just wanted to share with the world how cool it is that our first customer-to-be since launching the new website has come through for a visit and dropped us a line!
Kristina and Chris seem like MY KINDA COUPLE and she was good enough to share this photo of the two lovebirds a couple of years ago in Costa Rica - anyone who goes to South America for Christmas is alright in my book!
Aside from all that, let's face it - they are easy on the eyes and will look great in a gown and tux! Congrats again on your engagement :)
Folks,
It's a new day with a new site and on a new host - despite all the testing that indicated no problems prior to the switch over, it seems there are some performance issues that have cropped up that need to be ironed out - we are working on it and one way or the other we will get it resolved ASAP!
We appreciate your patience in the meantime - if you find the site to be somewhat less responsive than expected I certainly apologize!

In February when Canon announced an April release date for their new 1D Mark III camera I decided the added features were worthy of an upgrade and promptly sold my nearly 3 year old 1D Mark II.
Then I patiently watched and waited while they pushed the release back again and again - but yesterday I finally received my new baby in the mail (Christmas in June!) and so far I'd say it was well worth the wait!
So now I am looking forward to shooting some of you good people with my new Canon :)
